Gixy is a personal finance application designed to help users track recurring subscriptions and upcoming renewals.

This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use the Gixy application.

Information We Collect

Gixy does not require account registration and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Gixy may collect limited anonymous technical analytics information related to app usage and app performance through third-party analytics services, as described below.

SMS Access

Gixy may request access to SMS messages only with explicit user consent in order to detect recurring subscription payments from bank transaction notifications.

SMS access is user-initiated:

SMS messages are scanned only when the user explicitly enables or triggers scanning in the app
Gixy does not scan SMS messages periodically
Gixy does not scan SMS messages in the background

SMS messages are:

Processed locally on the user’s device
Not stored externally
SMS message content is not transmitted to external servers
Not shared with third parties for advertising or profiling

SMS content is used in memory only during processing and is discarded immediately after detection is completed.

Only derived subscription metadata (such as merchant name, billing interval, currency, and approximate amount) may be saved locally on the device.

Notifications

Gixy may request permission to send notifications in order to:

Notify users about upcoming subscription renewals
Inform users about detected subscription-related events

Notification permission is used only to display alerts generated by the app.
Notifications do not include SMS content and are not used to share data with third parties.

Data Storage

Subscription records and user-generated app data are stored locally on the user’s device.

Gixy does not operate backend servers and does not upload or sync subscription data or SMS content to external services.

Third-Party Analytics Services

Gixy uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect limited anonymous technical usage information, such as app interaction events and device/app instance identifiers.
This information is used solely to understand how users interact with the app, improve subscription detection flows, and improve product stability and usability.
No SMS message content, bank transaction text, or saved subscription details are transmitted to Firebase Analytics.

User Control

Users can:

Enable or disable SMS scanning at any time
Manually add, edit, or delete subscriptions
Control notification permissions through system settings
Remove all locally stored data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app

Children’s Privacy

Gixy is intended for adults and does not target or knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. Any updates will be published on this page.
